Another View of the Politics of Rice

One of the good opinions about the series of the problems in rice import in Indonesia could be read in exegesis. In order to have a brief understanding of rice import, we should refer to the conclusion of the theory of “Specific Factor Model“. The immobile factors of the import-competing goods will suffer or worse off from the international trade. In the case of rice import, the land owner, not the labor (landless farmer), will suffer from the import of rice. In this case, we assume that the landless farmer as the mobile factor. However, in the real world there is no perfectly mobile factor, they move with certain costs and sometimes could not be counted. Another important of the rice import is the political economy of trade protection. The last one is beyond the economic explanation.
